Jordan’s National Center for Curriculum Development (NCCD) visited the Academy of Korean Studies on November 8, 2023. The Jordanian delegation consisted of the director and deputy director of the NCCD, the director of measurement and evaluation, and the director of examinations and testing at the Jordanian Ministry of Education.

During the visit, they were introduced to the AKS and the Understanding Korea Project and also toured the International Textbook Library and the Jangseogak Archives. During a meeting with AKS President Ahn Byung-woo, they shared the view that textbooks and curriculum are important for future generations. They also agreed on the importance of face-to-face exchanges after the COVID-19 pandemic, and shared the values of peace and human rights.

The visit offered a good opportunity for the Division of Understanding Korea Project of the AKS and the Jordanian National Curriculum Development Center to enhance their cooperative relationship and enhance Jordan’s understanding of Korea and improve Korea-related contents in Jordanian textbooks.
