This Textbook Analysis project aims to ensure that textbooks, which are the basic materials for education in schools, contain descriptions of Korea which promote mutual understanding and friendship by systematically analyzing foreign textbook policies, Korea-related material in textbooks, trends in descriptions of Korea, and the image of Korea projected in textbooks. Additionally, an annual report is produced which describes trends, major issues, and ways for improving depictions of Korea in textbooks. This project also assists in the effective implementation of the Understanding Korea Project by helping to respond to a variety of issues.
