The Division of International Support for Korean Studies at the Center for International Affairs of the Academy of Korean Studies held the 98th Societas Koreana Meeting at the Korea Press Center on October 25, 2023. In this lecture, Dr. Minji Kim of the Tracing Patterns Foundation spoke about the history of hanbok, focusing on the theme "Hanbok in a Larger Historical Context."

Dr. Kim noted that the hanbok symbolically represents the ethnic identity of Korea. She elaborated on how the hanbok has signified Korean identity from its origins to the present day and discussed how it is expected to evolve in the 21st century.

Participants were able to share various opinions in a Q&A session that followed the lecture. The lecture will be posted on the Societas Koreana's YouTube channel.
