국제교류처 해외한국학지원실에서는 매년 ‘한국학중앙연구원 펠로십'을 통해 한국에서 한국학 관련 연구를
수행하고자 하는 해외 연구자를 초청‧지원하여 해외 한국학 저변 확대를 도모하고 있습니다.
이에 2024년도 한국학중앙연구원 펠로십 수혜자의 연구 결과물을 발표하는 자리를 다음과 같이 마련하였으니 많은 관심과 참여 부탁드립니다.

4. 발표 내용
Given the influx of North Korean refugees defecting to South Korea, an increasing number of North Korean students are entering school and university in South Korea’s educational system. Research has shown that these students struggle to integrate into the South Korean educational system due to the differences in the educational curriculum between the two Koreas, as well as prejudice toward North Korean refugees. However, limited scholarly attention has been paid to their language-related experiences in higher education. In this presentation, drawing on interviews with North Korean refugee students in South Korean universities, Dr. Park discusses their experiences of linguistic marginalization and insecurity, how these experiences affected their academic adaptation and identity, and what strategies they used to integrate themselves into the new educational environment. Dr. Park ends her talk by highlighting implications for educational policy and practice in South Korea.
