The Division of International Support for Korean Studies at the Center for International Affairs of the Academy of Korean Studies held the 188th Colloquium on Korean Studies Abroad on October 28, 2024, Monday, at the Munhyeonggwan Grand Conference Room. This colloquium featured a presentation by Professor Junbo Zhang (from Qiannan Normal College of Nationalities), a fellowship recipient at the Academy for 2024.

Professor Junbo Zhang presented on "The Historical Value of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty: A Comparison with the annals of past dynasties in China." The annals, historical records in East Asia, showcase the content, system, preservation methods, historians, historical narratives, chronological and biographical records of both Korea and China. Particularly noteworthy were his analyses of the similarities and differences between the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and the Annals of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The colloquiums drew many researchers and graduate students, who shared their opinions. The Division of International Support for Korean Studies will continue to organize events to promote communication among local and foreign researchers.
