The 11th World Congress of Korean Studies
The Academy of Korean Studies will host the 11th World Congress of Korean Studies from October 20, 2022. This congress has served as a platform for the scholars in Korean Studies from all around the world to present and discuss their research. This year, we wish to discuss the future of Korean Studies and new opportunities from diverse perspectives under the theme "Korean Culture Shared with the World."

The 93rd Societas Koreana Lecture

The 93rd Societas Koreana Meeting
The 93rd Societas Koreana Lecture was held was held at the Press Center on September 21, 2022. Professor Kwon Soon-man of Seoul National University, former president of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute who has many experiences in the health field, gave a lecture on "Pandemic, Governance and Resilience."

Professor Kwon talked about the impact of COVID-19, which began in 2020, on the global health and socioeconomics. He particularly noted that the impact on each country was affected by mortality, vaccination, social distancing, and the speed of policy decision-making. Professor Kwon also mentioned equity issues such as the low vaccination rate in poor countries and the victimization of the poor in each country.

Participants in the lecture, including ambassadors and diplomats stationed in Korea, shared their views in the question-and-answer session that followed the lecture. The entire lecture will be posted on the Societas Koreana YouTube channel.
